Searching For AnswerPosted by Amir (Tehran, Iran) on 11 September 2007 in Architecture and Portfolio. Dallas, TX Today is September 11th. On this day our world had taken on a new chapter. On this day many died for the cause of few. And six years later, people are still dying and there is no end in sight. Today is a reminder not only for those that lost their lives on that gloomy day, but for all of humanity that have been killed since the dawn of our time. Countless wars have been fought, and countless soles have been lost. Today is a reminder of human's dark dimension; the chosen creature to inherit Earth has brought such pain upon itself unrivaled by all natural disasters combined. If our world could not replenish and repair itself, we would have a redder planet than Mars because of all the blood that has been spilled on its soil. This monument reminds me of us, lost in the search for the meaning of life, lost since the day we step foot on this planet, looking to the sky for any ray of hope, for the answer. There are many many religions on this Earth and many claim to have answered the Grand question, but as we see today, we all are lost, and none knows the answer. We all kill because we believe we are right. They all kill because they believe they are right. Therefore the cycle of violence will never cease to exist till the end of time. Aaron Schmidt from Auckland, New ZealandNot all of us are lost. The path becomes much clearer if you stop staring at the sky for directions. 12 Sep 2007 12:22am @Aaron Schmidt: We all are lost, but we don't know it. That's the scary part. Many think that they have found the truth but the truth they found was nothing but another dead and. Cheers. @Rags: Down Town. Thanks for your comment. @objectif-plume: Thanks my friend. quintino from Joane, PortugalThis is a wonderful, wonderful photo. Pity the world isn´t the same. Guess so many people should hear more often the amazing song by Louis Armstrong "Wonderful World"! 12 Sep 2007 8:16am @quintino: Thanks my man. Mandy from Johannesburg, South AfricaYou have a wonderful way with words Amir. And your image is very moving - I love the processing on the colour of the tree's!!! Excellent. 12 Sep 2007 9:17am @Mandy: Thanks Mandy @alla: Thanks alla. Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesI get what Aaron is saying. I don't think he's saying anything all that different than what you're saying. However, I do think you're giving us all way too much credit. I don't think there are very many people out there who are really killing other people for an idea --that's just a more comforting rationalization for people than admitting to themselves they're killing for property, money, resources, and most of all, power. Religion and nationalism just dress all these more venal motives up in fancy clothes. Sometimes we see motive in its underwear --the Nazis, for instance, said they wanted "breathing room." People do what they want, for themselves, and then they dress up their motives with their various dogmas, and be they "religious" or "secular" --like communism or capitalism or fascism-- they all amount to the same thing. 12 Sep 2007 2:07pm @Twelvebit: Thank for sharing your view. @Saed: Thank you Saed Jan. @Stunner: Thanks. Rebecca from Leicester, United KingdomAbsolutely superb image, Amir. Very moving, exceedingly well-written commentary too, but you can probably guess i agree with Mandy here! Yes, there is a lot of evil in humanity, which is tragic far beyond words. But each of us individually still have a choice whether to succumb to that evil or to choose what we all know deep down in our hearts is good and true and beautiful. From what I've seen so far, you are choosing the latter though it's such a tough choice for all of us everyday, and I say bravo, man! 12 Sep 2007 6:37pm @Rebecca: I defiantly respect your opinion this subject and I certainly appreciate you putting me in the later group. I am always greatfull Rebecca. Stan Pulsar from Strasbourg, FranceWell, your results with these IR pics are really stunning. All parts are beautiful in their own way (sky/buildings, trees, statue). 13 Sep 2007 7:53pm @Stan Pulsar: That is right my friend, Santa's tale were all lies.
