Parallel To The Light Pole

Posted by Amir (Tehran, Iran) on 26 September 2007 in Abstract & Conceptual and Portfolio.

This picture was created using a Photoshop action called "Big Picture", what it does is that makes layers of image and create this puzzle effect. I find it really creative.

Update:

Some friends asked me about this action, so here I have provided the link to the site with instructions and download link. If you are a Photoshop user please try it for your self.

lissa from New York, United States

I like this effect - works well with the image but I am unsure what the image is - is it a building? I do like the composition.

@lissa: I put the base of my camera on the light pole, so the lens was pointed at the sky, focused on the head of the lamp. Can you see it? In this was I could give the perspective to the sky along the body of the pole.

Thanks for coming.

Mandy from Johannesburg, South Africa

It's... wow!!! You are some photographer... Soundtrack for this one: The Photographer, from the album with the same name, by Philip Glass.
That effect is available in wich Photoshop version?

26 Sep 2007 8:04pm

@Quintino: You are so kind my friend. I am just an armature having passion for photographs. I will update the photo information with link to the download page. I have Photoshop CS3, AKA 10.0, but I think it will work with all the CS series of Photoshop or maybe even 7.0.

Interesting. Before reading your explanation I thought you had a photo of a "Rastorbator" image. Rastorbator is a program that blows an image up to wall size --printed on multiple sheets of paper, and the result looks like your photo. There is a theme using Rastorbator images at JPG mag, with images like this one .

@Twelvebit: Thanks for your info. I am now interested in that method printing. I usually print and have no printer because of environmental reasons but this might be nice to have.
