"Level with the grass" is sort of an interesting claim to me. What exactly does it mean? At what level is level with the grass? At the roots? midway up a blade? top of a blade? average blade height? And once that level is established, what, photographically, is level with the grass? The bottom of the camera? the bottom of the lens? lens centerline? I'm nitpicking I suppose, but I think these questions illustrate just how imprecise language is in ordinary use.

Wonderful angle. Sometimes we need to look at world from different view points.Like you did in this pic. Beautiful.

I once watched a beetle struggle through the grass across my garden lawn. Took him all day, and at the other side, a hungry bird gobbled him up...
Now I know exactly what the world looked like to him. Nice shot, its great to get the camera into unusual vantage points, you can see the world afresh.

Wow. Not only are you King of HDR, you are also King of Amazing Angles, dear Amir!! Once again, this is OUTSTANDING, at every level.

BTW, since Rebecca brought it up, what are you using for HDR, Photomatix? Have you tried Artizen or any of the other programs out there?

20 Dec 2007 10:42pm

@Twelvebit: Photomatix is what I use. I have never used Artizen but hear of it. I has good reputation. I used to use PS CS3 internal HDR engine, but results were disappointing.

From what I've been reading recently on Flickr, some of the things I don't like about Photomatix (haloing, for example, especially around long thin objects like wires, tree branches, etc, and previews that don't match results) are the product of inferior implementation. I guess I'm going to have to try the competition and see for myself.
