War & ExploitationPosted by Amir (Tehran, Iran) on 19 December 2007 in Abstract & Conceptual and Portfolio. Salt Lake City, UT What else would you think when you see sign like this! Money? Rich? Pollution? Global Warming? Or maybe all of the above and more. If you find my photos interesting, please take a moment and vote for me at Photoblog Awards. Michael Rawluk from Prince George, CanadaThey do like to support conflict. 19 Dec 2007 6:02am Richard_Irwin from Belper, United KingdomDefinitely all of the above and more.. 19 Dec 2007 11:11am Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesYou're becoming bold with your titles. I'd guess what most people think when they see this sign goes something like this: do I need gas? do I have the right credit card?....how much is unleaded? ...which side of the road is it on?....is it crowded?....do they have a restroom? How far is it to McDonalds? Really though, it doesn't matter if they think these simple thoughts or something more complicated and philosophical. To those in power, what anyone who has no power thinks is irrelevant, as our ruling class makes increasingly clear nearly every day. 19 Dec 2007 2:31pm Michael from Wuppertal, GermanyThank you for your thoughts! You´re so bloody right... 19 Dec 2007 9:06pm Wolfgang Prigge from Granby, Québec, CanadaMay I add "America's fascination with gas guzzlers" to the list? 19 Dec 2007 9:21pm Rebecca from Leicester, United KingdomOnce again, a truly first-class image, dear Amir. Simple yet perfect and powerful. And very true words. May I also say I agree with Wolfgang here. “We the people” also have a responsibility for the govts we elect and choose to be seduced by in their impressive ‘well-oiled’ election campaigns, for the difference we may or may not try to make in society in day-to-day life, and for the personal choices we make which add to or help relieve the burden on our planet’s resources. Driving around monstrous gas-guzzlers occupied by one or two people at a time is definitely a good example of how we can choose wrong. There are many more, in this mind-boggling modernity we live in. Truly OUTSTANDING image and message, dear friend. 20 Dec 2007 12:45am |
