Gateway To ForgivenessPosted by Amir (Tehran, Iran) on 18 May 2008 in Architecture and Portfolio. Fort Worth, TX Gateway to a church in downtown Fort worth. P.S. I am neither encouraging nor discouraging religiosity here, The name just popped up. Obviously some people no matter how many times go to Church, Mosque, Temple or what have you, their sins are never forgotten, not beacuse God is not forgiving but because they tend to repeat their sins over and over again. There is a belief among some in this country that sinning is irrelevant because by their belief --and not their works-- they already have a pre-paid first class ticket through the Pearly Gates. I have even been told by some of this persuasion that morality is therefore irrelevant. In fact, I've been told that if Adolf Hitler came to this belief before he died, he will be in Heaven, while people like Gandhi and Bertrand Russell will not. That makes me think of Mark Twain again (also not allowed in) and his saying: "Heaven for the weather, Hell for the company." 22 May 2008 4:22am |
