This shot was taken during our trip to Wilson Creek National Battlefield in Springfield, MO. If you are visiting this wonderful, yet tiny town you should pay a visit to this historic Civil War place.
Just take a moment and imagine this peaceful canon once has ended so many lives. Something that people like me enjoy to visit and take pictures of, at its own time was a tool of war, a messenger of death. It's a shame that we humans never learn.

Nicely executed. Gettysburg and Gods and Generals are two movies its hard to watch without contemplating just how absurdly fought and wasteful this war was.
